Check out RescueDish events during DMV Food Recovery Week!

Food Recovery week is almost here!

Put on by Manna Food Center and the DC Food Recovery Working Group, the week features mostly virtual, mostly free events that will help you stretch ingredients, compost and just generally show your food—and the resources that went into making it—lots of love. RescueDish is proud to be backing two events, both on Wednesday, Oct. 6, that will highlight restaurant efforts to make use of ingredients that some might toss.

Find a full schedule here, and details on registering for those RescueDish events below.

Your Scraps, My Treasure: Food Recovery Upcycling Mixer

7:00-8:00pm (Virtual)

If life gives you lemon rinds, let someone else make limoncello! Food businesses’ discards might be exactly what another food business uses. Whether a business is making beer and ending up with spent grain or they are making broccoli bread and ending up with lots of stems, join this session to meet businesses for possible collaborations. The general public is welcome to join and learn about food upcycling and witness match making in action.
